The Vari-Head is a unique beer sparkler which allows you to tailor the head on hand pulled real ale without having to remove it from the beer engine.

It fits all existing beer engines with no modification, and is made from food grade plastics and 'o' rings and stainless steel screws.

The Vari-Head also increases your Hygiene levels due to the fact that it is operated by the inside of a clean glass not a server's hand.

Now with 0.6mm holes for a tighter and creamier head.

A simple solution to an age old problem

Presentation of real ale is a key part of customer satisfaction and is greatly influenced by the use of a beer sparkler.

All professionals working a bar know that the frequent removal and refitting of a beer sparkler is the bane of their lives.

The ease of operation of the Vari-Head beer sparkler, enables bar staff to easily and hygienically control the amount of head produced, by simply moving the slide with the inside of a clean glass to produce a head or no head dependent upon its position. If a customer wishes a creamy head, bar staff simply set the sparkler to produce a head and vice versa of the customer wishes minimal or no head.

Obviously shandies are easy as the slide can be positioned to produce minimum head.

The Vari-Head can easily satisfy the brewer's requirement for a specific style of head.

There is no need to touch the Vari-Head beer sparkler once it has been fitted for the day, as long as it is always operated with the inside of a clean glass, hygiene is maximised, unlike a traditional beer sparkler where you may have to remove and refit dependant on beer condition and customer preference which can create opportunities for poor hygiene standards.

The Vari-Head is made from FDA food grade plastics and stainless steel fixings.

Cleaning of the Vari-Head takes no greater effort than that of a standard sparkler apart from moving the side to make sure that a build up of beer does not cause it to stick

Beer in excellent condition produces fobbing with a traditional beer sparkler, thus creating waste.

By selective use of the slide this waste can be minimised while retaining a head thus improving yield.

Beer that has been served for several days whilst still tasting fine may have lost its condition. A traditional beer sparkler used for the whole pint would produce too much head. Our Vari-Head beer sparkler can produce just the right amount of head, normally until the cask is empty thus reducing throwing beer away.

Q: Why doesn't the Vari-Head fit into the bottom of my half pint glass?
A: The Vari-Head fits in most traditional half pint glasses admittedly it will not always get to the very bottom, but the ability to reduce the amount of head being produced makes up for this.

Q: Why is the head sometimes not as creamy?
A: There are two possibilities for this. If you are on gas assisted pumps, a slight increase in pressure to improve the flow rate will help, or in a pint glass leave a larger gap between the Vari-Head and the bottom of the glass.

Q: How do you clean the Vari-Head?
A: It takes no more cleaning then a standard sparkler on a daily basis. A deep clean of moving the slide from side to side in cleaning solution is recommend at least once a week to keep the slide from becoming sticky and inoperable.

Q: How do you tell if the Vari-Head is on sparkle or not?
A: You can tell by the feel when you pull the pump.

Q: Why do you supply spare 'o' rings?
A:We supply spare 'o' rings in case you ever need to change them, but in over a year of selling the Vari-Head no one has yet.
